Many thanks for your record-breaking response. The shortlist will be published on 9 September.
The THE Awards are widely recognised as the Oscars of the higher education sector.
Each year we attract hundreds of entries that exemplify the talent, dedication and innovation of individuals and teams across all aspects of university life, showing us countless reasons why our institutions continue to prosper.
The THE Awards are free to enter, and open to anyone involved in higher education across the UK and Ireland. In 2021, for the first time in 17 years, the THE Awards look beyond the UK to include excellence in Ireland's higher education sector too.
After our esteemed judging panel has worked its way through a treasure trove of excellence, our awards evening – where traditionally well over a thousand people gather to celebrate together in central London – gives us the perfect opportunity to reflect on the extraordinary breadth and depth of our higher education sectors.
The shortlist will be published on 9 September 2021, and the winners will be revealed at what we very much hope will be an in-person ceremony in London on 25 November 2021. Following the fabulous, if untypical, virtual THE Awards ceremony in 2020 when over 1800 people witnessed the winners announcement live, we also want to ensure that those who are unable to attend in person can participate in this year's celebration virtually too.
This year’s ceremony will once again serve as the celebratory finale to a two-day THE Live event which, pandemic restrictions permitting, will be held in separate wings of one venue, the newly refurbished Hilton London Metropole hotel. This means another break from a 17-year THE Awards tradition, with the ceremony moving away from the Grosvenor, so we have some exciting plans to celebrate that too – please do keep 24-25 November free in your diaries for what should be an unmissable event.
